TRAINING OF TRAINERS-GENDER SENSITIVITY TRAINING (TOT-GST) WORKSHOP AND COMMITTEE ON DECORUM AND INVESTIGATION (CODI) ORIENTATION

TOT) – GST Workshop and CODI Orientation as part of the Women’s Month celebration last March 14 – 16, 2018 at SNCAT Mini-Gym. This aims to produce TOT – GST pool of experts to teach Gender sensitivity topics. It was attended by 25 dynamic trainers of the school who showed enthusiasm and eagerness to learn while on-training.

The workshop that was facilitated by Ms. Fe N. Gomez, senior TESD Specialist of TESDA Regional Office began with an opening program wherein the overview and the objectives of the training were thoroughly explained and set. The Gender Sensitivity Curriculum of the Basic Competencies NC I and NC II was also presented to give the participants in-depth knowledge of the importance in integrating this curriculum to every qualification.

The discussion on the 4As of Learning, Teaching/ Learning Techniques, and Tips of Effective Presentation and Facilitation Skills – The Art of Facilitating with Ms. Fe N. Gomez, Regional GAD focal, followed after the opening program.

During the training, the participants were grouped into 4 groups to do return demonstration of the modules assigned to them. The module titles were the Observing Gender Sensitivity in the Workplace, Practice Occupational Health and Safety Procedure, Working in a Team Environment, and Practicing Career professionalism. Each module contains different activities that each group need to demonstrate using the teaching techniques that they have learned from the discussion. It was quite challenging for the participants yet they were able to do the demonstration exceedingly great.

The workshop concluded with a giving of plaque of recognition to the resource person and a distribution of certificate to each participant.
